Englannin haaveet järjestää muun muassa jalkapallon MM-turnaus, voitaneen heittää roskiin viimeistään tänään, ellei niitä oltu unohdettu jo sunnuntain ja maanantain välisenä yönä.

UEFA antoi tiistai-iltana itsestään selvän lausunnon; se aloittaa virallisen tutkinnan järjestyksenpidon toivottomuudesta Wembleyllä EM-kisojen loppuottelun yhteydessä. Yleisömassojen rynnäkkö läpi esteiden katsomoihin ilman pääsylippuja on tutkimusten pääkohde, minkä lisäksi tarkastellaan neljää erillistä, kannattajien käyttäytymiseen liittyvää järjestysrikkomusta.

Remember, up until 8:30pm, the official line was there was no breach of security at Wembley and no ticketless fans inside contrary to the evidence of our eyes.

Never forget that.
