Chelsea hävisi Manchester Citylle Liigacupin finaalissa, kun maaliton ottelu ratkaistiin lopulta rangaistuspotkukilpailussa.

Ottelu oli melko hiljainen Chelsea-vahti Kepa Arrizabalagalle, kunnes espanjalaisveskari sai jatkoajan lopulla krampin.

Maurizio Sarri halusi maalivahdin pois kentältä, mutta Kepa ei suostunut jättämään kenttää aivan rangaistuspotkukilpailun alla.

Tilanteesta seurasi iso haloo varsinkin sosiaalisessa mediassa, jossa sekä Chelsean että muiden seurojen kannattajat valitsivat puolensa Kepan ja Sarrin välisessä sanaharkassa.

Useimpien mielestä Kepa teki tilanteessa väärin, koska hän ei kunnioittanut managerin käskyä tulla vaihtoon. Esimerkiksi The Telegraphin jalkapallotoimittaja Matt Law kertoi ’tuntevansa myötätuntoa Sarria kohtaa’.

Jotkut kuitenkin ymmärsivät myös Kepaa, joka pelasi uransa ensimmäistä finaalia, eikä halunnut tulla kentältä pois vain pienen krampin takia.

Kepa didn't want to come off, he should have accepted the decision of course, but why is Luiz/Azpi somebody not grabbing him? Not clear who is in charge on the pitch or off it.
